We recently completed construction a functioning water tower near LaPorte, IN. It is used to drip irrigate an apple orchard. Water is supplied to the tank by a 10′ B702 Windmill x 50′ tower. When the tank is full, overflow water runs down copper downspout going to a nearby creek. Here are a few of the construction details;
- The foundation has 27 yards concrete
- Timbers are White Oak, Deck/handrail is Cedar
- Vertical posts are 8″ x 8″ x 12′
- Primary beams are 8″ x 12″- longest 14′ long
- Joists are 6″ x 12″
- Measures 14′ to the tank deck
- Timber plates are 3/8″ thick, hot galvanized
- Timber tie bolts are 1″ x 10″ square head, hot galvanized
